A great day for the kids and all the family. There is a lot to pack into one day. Not a cheap day out, but memorable. At Christmas there is a great light event -but it gets very crowded. https://www.longleat.co.uk/

Probably the most scenic spot in Bradford on Avon. Adjacent to the river and canal there is a good children’s playground and picnic area. There is also a safe place they can splash around in the river, the Tithe Barn to explore and a couple of cafes. It’s about a 20 minute walk from Woolley Barn Farm. https://bradfordonavon.uk.com/barton-farm-country-park/
Wookey Hole is in the beautiful Cheddar Gorge. It’s a place to go even if it’s raining as it’s an underground cave. It feels a bit like Blackpool came to Somerset as there is an clutch of trinket and assorted grot shops, but the cave is a wow. The gorge itself is superb and if you go further up its great for kids to scramble around the rocks. It’s just under an hour drive. https://www.wookey.co.uk/
Swimming pool consisting of a 25m main pool and large children’s pool with slide. Around 20 minutes walk from Woolley Barn or park in the station car park and take the steps to the left of the public toilets. https://www.placesleisure.org/centres/bradford-on-avon-swimming-pool/

Bike hire including kids bikes. Ideal for the flat canal towpath. If feeling keen can cycle to Bath (10miles) or for less demanding the aqueducts at Avoncliff (1.5miles) and Dundas (5miles) both with cafes. It’s a great safe ride. Update 1/9/21 TT Cycles no longer hire child bikes or supply helmets, but do now have e-bikes. https://www.ttcycles.co.uk/
